Sloan Sports Analytics Conference To Feature Big Announcements

The eighth annual MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference begins today at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston. With the event moving to the smaller hall compared to the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, organizers are expecting a sold-out attendance of about 2,000, down from last year’s record 2,700, with a waiting list of another 2,000 people. Several industry announcements are expected during the event, including MLBAM’s planned unveiling tomorrow of “the first-ever complete and reliable measurement of every play on the field.”

Scheduled speakers include NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, MLBAM President & CEO Bob Bowman, Bloomberg Sports President Bill Squadron, StubHub Global Head of Business Development & Partnerships Danielle Maged, FiveThirtyEight founder Nate Silver, Ticketmaster North American President Jared Smith and Fenway Sports Group Chair John Henry, among many others.
