Betfair Hollywood Park Hosts Its Final Race After 75 Years

A crowd of 13,283 turned out Sunday at Betfair Hollywood Park for “the last live racing to be held at the landmark site that hosted 75 years of memorable competition.” The attendance was “the largest crowd since 25,837 attended Zenyatta’s last race in California” in ’10. Following a close final race, track announcer Vic Stauffer said, “A photo finish. Seventy-five years came down to a camera close-up. Seventy-five years at Hollywood Park. That’s a wrap.” The track then played “Happy Trails to You” over the PA (BLOODHORSE.com, 12/23).
