ESPN Gets Go-Ahead For Winter X Games Concerts In Aspen

The Aspen City Council last night approved ESPN's request to stage two concerts in Wagner Park during Winter X Games weekend in January, "and tickets could go on sale as early as Monday." ESPN "has locked up artists," but "band names were not announced immediately." Each day "will feature an opening act and headliner." The last X Games concerts in Aspen took place in '06, when an estimated 10,000-15,000 attended free shows. Some concertgoers "organized groups and overran fences and security." The '14 event will be ticketed, with a $30 charge for general admission (ASPEN TIMES, 11/6).
