NBA Owners, Execs Hold Dinner Honoring Commissioner David Stern

NBA owners and top execs held a dinner honoring NBA Commissioner David Stern last night at the St. Regis Hotel in N.Y. as part of the league's BOG meetings. According to a source, the celebratory dinner included a video tribute to Stern featuring Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Kobe Bryant, Bill Russell, Magic Johnson, LeBron James and Tim Duncan. The dinner also included a one-on-one panel featuring Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein and CNN’s Wolf Blitzer. Pacers Owner Herb Simon, the league's most senior owner, and Spurs Owner Peter Holt, the current BOG Chair, also spoke (John Lombardo, Staff Writer).

The BOG meetings wrap up today, and Bucks Owner Herb Kohl and Exec VP/Business Administration Ron Walter are expected to give an "update on arena development efforts." Before Kohl retired as a U.S. Senator, Walter "normally represented the team at league meetings" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 10/23).
