NFL Owners To Vote On Falcons Stadium Funds, Super Bowl Sites

NFL owners at their meeting today in Boston are set to approve $200M in financing for the Falcons’ proposed stadium. The Falcons would become the third team, following the 49ers and Vikings, to tap into the full amount that is available to teams through the current league stadium-funding program, which was put into place in '11. The money is part loan, part grant.

The meeting also will feature votes on host sites for Super Bowls L and LI, with the 49ers’ Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara expected to be the pick for L in '16 and Houston's Reliant Field the favorite for LI in '17. Additionally, the league will brief owners on a host of business matters. Some small equity team transactions are up for a vote as well, including a minor slice of the Raiders from one limited partner to another limited partner, one source said.
