FS KC Honors Late Royals Voice Fred White With Half-Inning Of Silence

Former Royals radio announcer and exec Fred White died yesterday at the age of 76 due to "complications from melanoma." White called games from '74-98 and was "associated with the club for 40 years," most recently serving as Dir of Broadcast Services & Royals Alumni. FS KC during its broadcast of last night's Royals-Angels game honored White with a "half-inning of silence" in the top of the first, during which it showed a "picture serving as a tribute to White in the bottom right corner of the screen" (MLB.com, 5/16).
