Deal Would Give Dolphins $7.5M A Year To Renovate Sun Life Stadium

Miami-Dade County commissioners today will be presented "in detail" with a deal for Sun Life Stadium renovations that would grant the Dolphins about $7.5M a year in hotel taxes. Mayor Carlos Gimenez late last night backed the deal, and commissioners are expected to convene tomorrow to endorse it and "send it on to the countywide vote on May 14, a week before NFL owners meet" to award Super Bowls L and LI. The Dolphins "have agreed to forgo county money if one of the games is not awarded" to Miami (MIAMI HERALD, 4/9).
