U.S. Soccer Celebrating Centennial With Events In N.Y. This Week

U.S. Soccer is celebrating its centennial in N.Y. this week with a series of events that includes an all-day event today in Times Square. USSF Soccer President Sunil Galati, U.S. men's national team coach Jurgen Klinsmann, U.S. women's national team MF Carli Lloyd and former players including Alexi Lalas, Cobi Jones and Michelle Akers will be on hand as fans take penalty kicks, play games on a small-sided field and participate in interactive discussions. On Friday, U.S. Soccer will hold a press conference at City Hall, across the street from the former site of the Astor Place hotel, where the federation signed its charter 100 years ago on April 5, 1913.
