David Gill To Step Down As Manchester United CEO This Summer

EPL club Manchester United today announced that CEO David Gill "will step down" this summer, though he will remain a club director while Exec Vice Chair & Chief of Staff Ed Woodward "takes on his responsibilities." Gill joined the ManU board in '97 as Finance Dir (GUARDIAN.co.uk, 2/20). Gill was named FA Vice Chair last October and "has been nominated as its candidate in the upcoming UEFA Executive Committee elections in May 2013" (BBC.co.uk, 2/20).
