Meanwhile, New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu yesterday "emphatically declared that New Orleans will be ready for the Super Bowl on Feb. 3" and ancillary events. Deputy Mayor Cedric Grant said that "besides a few minor fixes to be completed in the next week, all construction and beautification around the Super Dome, the French Quarter and the Central Business District was finished," including more than $330M in improvements to the stadium (New Orleans TIMES-PICAYUNE, 1/23).
