Former Liverpool Owners Settle Dispute Against Club Directors

EPL club Liverpool confirmed that former co-Owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett "have withdrawn their allegations" against former club directors Martin Broughton and Christian Purslow and current Managing Dir Ian Ayre, who in '10 "successfully led the legal campaign which forced the American pair to relinquish control of the club." The case against Hicks and Gillett was actually brought by creditors RBS, but they "only departed after making claims against Broughton, Purslow and Ayre" (GUARDIAN.co.uk, 1/11). Terms of the out-of-court settlement are confidential (PA, 1/11).

Meanwhile, Hicks has settled a lawsuit with the MLB Rangers' bankruptcy administrator over land and parking lot improvements. A joint motion said Hicks, who formerly owned the team, and administrator Alan Jacobs have "compromised and resolved the disputes at issue" (FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM, 1/11).
