NBA BOG Expected To Vote On Grizzlies Sale During Meeting In N.Y.

The NBA BOG meets today and tomorrow at the St. Regis Hotel in N.Y. with the agenda expected to include a vote on the sale of the Grizzlies to Robert Pera and an update on the league’s ongoing jersey advertising discussions. The meeting also will feature reports on the league's new CBA and revenue-sharing program, international and team business heading into the '12-13 season. Other agenda items include updates on Barclays Center and the ongoing renovation of MSG (John Lombardo, SportsBusiness Journal).
Oaktree Capital Management Principal Steve Kaplan has joined Pera's bid group for the Grizzlies as a limited partner, according to a source. Kaplan becomes the 13th partner in the group to be publicly identified. Kaplan, who earlier this year had an interest in acquiring the Padres, was involved in current Grizzlies Owner Michael Heisley's "unsuccessful bid to own" the Dodgers (Memphis COMMERCIAL APPEAL, 10/24).
