NBA Releases '12-13 Schedule; TNT's Celtics-Heat To Lead Off

The NBA released its '12-13 schedule last night, and TNT will see its slate of NBA games increase to 52 from last season’s lockout-shortened 45 games. The net will begin its season with Celtics-Heat on Oct. 30. The Heat, Knicks and Thunder each will have 10 games on TNT. ESPN will air 75 games beginning Nov. 2, with a doubleheader broadcast featuring Heat-Knicks and Clippers-Lakers. ABC’s 15-game broadcast schedule begins on Christmas Day with a doubleheader starting with Knicks-Lakers and followed by Thunder-Heat.

The first of NBA TV’s 96 games to be aired begins on Oct. 31 with Spurs-Hornets in No. 1 overall draft pick C Anthony Davis' NBA debut, followed by Lakers-Trail Blazers.

TNT’s Stan Van Gundy, ESPN’s Tim Reed, NBA Playoffs and NFL Draft

On this week’s pod, SBJ’s Austin Karp has two Big Get interviews. The first is with TNT’s Stan Van Gundy as he breaks down the NBA Playoffs from the booth. Later in the show, we hear from ESPN’s VP of Programming and Acquisitions Tim Reed as the NFL Draft gets set to kick off on Thursday night in Motown. SBJ’s Tom Friend also joins the show to share his insights into NBA viewership trends.
