The NFL Coaches Association is directly suing two NFLPA officers, and the union’s former general counsel, Richard Berthelsen, as part of the ongoing legal dispute between the coaches group and players' union. The NFLCA also last week sued Amalgamated Bank, which the complaint charges declined to release the coaches’ association’s funds per the request of the NFLPA. The NFLCA is asking for $958,834.57 in addition to the attorneys’ fees and litigation expenses from the NFLPA, Berthelsen, Clark Gaines and Charles Ross. It also is asking for a separate trial to determine Amalgamated’s liability.
