Roger Goodell To Announce Media Moves In Pre-Super Bowl Address

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is expected to make some media news at his annual pre-Super Bowl press conference today. He will announce plans to add a handful of live games to NFL Network next season, beyond the eight-game schedule already announced, sources said. It is not clear how many games will be added; one source said it would be around two or four games, and they would all be on Thursday night. NFL Network will not carry a full season's worth of games, sources said.

Goodell also is expected to formally announce the launch of another new cable channel, a Spanish-language version of NFL RedZone. The league has no deals with cable or satellite operators yet. However, it is expected to offer it in a similar way as its popular NFL RedZone, via a premium tier. It is unclear whether it would be offered on a Spanish-language tier or a sports tier.
