Bahrain, U.S. Grand Prix Remain On Next Year's Approved F1 Schedule

The World Motor Sports Council has approved F1's '12 schedule during their meeting in New Delhi, "despite previous uncertainty about races in Bahrain and the United States." The 20-race calendar, which will be the longest season in F1 history, "had been in doubt" after F1 Management Chair Bernie Ecclestone "suggested the US Grand Prix at a new circuit to be built in Austin, Texas, looked unlikely." The absence of Turkey was "widely expected although Turkish Grand Prix organizers recently said they were 'hopeful' of hanging on to a race slot" (London TELEGRAPH, 12/7).
