White Sox Plan New Technology-Focused Store Close To Ballpark

The White Sox today will announce that the new Chicago Sports Depot retail store will open Nov. 19 across the street from U.S. Cellular Field, the team’s ballpark. The 12,000-square-foot store is full of new technology. A digital staircase showcasing images of players, highlights and merchandise as customers move to and from the second level is the building’s signature design element. There are also 77 video monitors and four video walls.
To celebrate its grand opening, the White Sox and Delaware North Sportservice, the store operator, are giving away a free $5,000 shopping spree to one lucky fan. In addition, there is a 25% store-wide discount Nov. 19 during the facility’s first three hours of operation. The Sports Depot will be open year-round, selling Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls and college merchandise in addition to White Sox items.
