Cowboys Offshoot Signs 10-Year Merchandise Deal With USC

The Cowboys today are expected to announce the launch of a new company called Silver Star Merchandising that has signed a 10-year deal with the Univ. of Southern California to license and distribute its sports merchandise. Silver Star, an offshoot of Dallas Cowboys Merchandising Ltd., will be run by the Jones family, the owners of the Cowboys. Silver Star is pursuing other college licensing and distribution deals and has had discussions with the Univ. of Texas and Ohio State Univ. No agreements have been signed with those two schools, Cowboys officials said.
