FCC Expected To Give Long-Awaited Approval To Comcast-NBC Deal

The FCC today is expected to vote in favor of the Comcast-NBC Universal merger, with sources saying that the "deal will be approved 4 to 1." The sources said that the Justice Department "approved the deal in its antitrust review and is expected to announce conditions it attached to the merger soon after the FCC's vote" (WASHINGTON POST, 1/18). Following federal approval, Comcast is "expected to rush to close the acquisition before the end of the month" (LATIMES.com, 1/17).
