Audience Analysis: Michigan-Penn State Leads CFB On ABC, Formula 1 Up On NBC

ABC drew 6.9 million viewers for Penn State's 42-13 blowout of Michigan on "Saturday Night Football," marking the network's second-largest audience since the opening week of the season. In the comparable primetime window last year, ABC drew 6.5 million viewers for Penn State's 24-21 upset over previously unbeaten Ohio State. Saturday's Michigan-PSU game was also the most-watched college football matchup of the weekend. Alabama's rout of Tennessee on "The SEC on CBS" Saturday afternoon ranked as the second-most-viewed of the weekend with 4.4 million viewers.

FORMULA TO SUCCESS: NBC on Sunday afternoon drew 1.05 million viewers for the F1 U.S. Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas. That number is up from 727,000 viewers in '16 and from 889,000 in '15.
