StubHub's Q3 Revenue Up 5%, Aided By International Growth, Early NHL Sales

StubHub during its Q3 that ended Sept. 30 generated $275M in revenue, up 5% from the comparable period last year, according to earnings released late yesterday by corporate parent eBay. The company also posted $1.2B in gross sales, up 2%. The eBay earnings report credited StubHub’s international growth, early NHL sales and recent efforts such as a ticket partnership with the Red Sox to give it integration with all 30 MLB clubs and a resale alliance for the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. But the StubHub growth remains behind more bullish double-digit percentage gains seen during much of last year, and eBay warned of “continued pressure on growth” during the duration of '17. eBay President & CEO Devin Wenig said, "StubHub is totally dependent on things that are out of are control, which are the lineup of concerts, teams, events. And Q3 last year, actually the second half of last year, was historically good, and it’s not quite breaking that way this year."
