Audience Analysis: Michigan-MSU Rivalry Leads CFB Week 6; NASCAR's Charlotte Race Down

ABC on Saturday night drew 6.5 million viewers for Michigan State's win over Michigan, which marked the first time the football rivalry game aired in primetime. Last year's Michigan-MSU game, which aired on a Saturday afternoon later in the season, drew 4.65 million viewers on ESPN. Saturday's contest was the most-watched game of Week 6 and was up 18% over the comparable Week 6 window in '16, which featured Florida State-Miami.

DOWN-SHIFTING: NBC on Sunday afternoon drew 2.89 million viewers for Martin Truex Jr.'s win in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Bank of America 500, which aired in a new timeslot. That number is down from 3.22 million viewers for last year's race, which also ran on a Sunday afternoon after being postponed due to rain on Saturday night. This past Sunday's race start was moved up one hour (to 1:15pm ET) due to a threat of rain. Two years ago, the race was delayed to Sunday afternoon, drawing 2.7 million viewers on NBCSN.
