Andre Agassi Featured In New Spot Supporting Las Vegas In Wake Of Shooting Tragedy

The newest TV spot for the city of Las Vegas features a "heartfelt message" from Andre Agassi, one of the city's "favorite sons," according to Richard Velotta of the LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL. R&R Partners, Las Vegas, "distributed the new spot, titled 'Vegas Strong.'" It began airing yesterday on various national nets, including ESPN and ESPN2. The musicless, 60-second spot also has a 30-second version that "presents an off-camera Agassi with a message of strength" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 10/5). The ad also got help from the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority. LVCVA President & CEO Rossi Ralenkotter said that "once the team had the basic concept finished," the next step was "finding someone to narrate." Ralenkotter: "We thought, 'What about Andre Agassi?' He grew up here. He’s a native Las Vegan and while he’s an international sports star, he has always gone back to his roots in Las Vegas. He was contacted and didn’t even hesitate. He just said yes and 'What do you want me to do?'" (LAS VEGAS SUN, 10/5). Mountain West Assistant Commissioner/Advanced Media & Digital Strategy Katie Cavender tweeted, "Can’t even put into words how powerful I think this is. Well done, @Vegas, @rrpartners and @AndreAgassi #VegasStrong." Nevada Independent Editor Jon Ralston: "Really powerful video." Las Vegas Sheriff Joe Lombardo: "Thank you Andre Agassi for showing us what strength and unity is."
