YES Network's David Cone To Join Fox Sports Booth For Red Sox-Astros ALDS

YES Network analyst David Cone will "join Joe Davis and AJ Pierzynski in the Fox Sports booth for the Red Sox-Astros ALDS," according to a source cited by Justin Terranova of the N.Y. POST. Cone "called a game with the crew on Saturday in preparation for the postseason." Cone said, "It was pretty smooth for the first time we worked together." Terranova notes Cone "worked his fair share of Red Sox games from the Yankees booth during the regular season." Cone added, "It’s definitely an advantage seeing the Red Sox a lot this year" (N.Y. POST, 10/3). Fox Sports is the majority owner of YES Network (THE DAILY).

ROSE-COLORED GLASSES: Fox yesterday formally announced that Keith Hernandez and David Ortiz will be part of the net's postseason studio show. SNY’s Jon Hein said Hernandez "will be more than up to the task.” SNY’s Marc Malusis said Hernandez will be “fantastic,” because he “tells you like it is." Heim: “Like A-Rod, he’s got that analytical mind when it comes to the fundamentals of the game, which I love. Keith is going to be great. With Ortiz, it’s a good combo” (“Loud Mouths,” SNY, 10/2).
