USMNT MF CHRISTIAN PULISIC was profiled on CBS’ “60 MINUTES” last night, with CBS’ Sharyn Alfonsi noting he is “not only the youngest player” on the national team, he "may just be the best American to ever play the game.” Pulisic plays professionally with Bundesliga club Dortmund and is “already a household name” in Germany. He has been "embraced by the notoriously unforgiving Dortmund fans, partly because he's become fluent in German -- it took him a year -- but mostly because he mastered their precise style of play.” Alfonso asked whether he feels like “people are expecting you to be the next MESSI.” Pulisic: “It’s what American soccer fans do especially. They’re looking for the next star, the next player, to just be the face of U.S. soccer and all the stuff that I hear every day.” Pulisic’s on-field play and his “boy-next-door looks make him a marketer’s dream,” as he has deals with Nike, Gatorade and Hershey’s, which is also his hometown (“60 Minutes," CBS, 10/1).
