NFL Names In The News: Gronk Readies New Tide Ad; Brady To Make Brain Exercises Public

The AP's Dan Gelston reported Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski is starring in a "variety of spots for Tide Sport PODS, including one where he emulated an amateur girl athlete’s sport smell after a day of competition." He "shows off his lighter side again when he shares social media gossip with a teen girl in another commercial" (AP, 9/5). Meanwhile, in Boston, Olivia Vanni reports Patriots QB Tom Brady has "teamed up with Posit Science to make" his personal regimen of BrainHQ exercises and assessments "available to the public." Brady has "reportedly been doing BrainHQ exercises online over the past four years," and he "claims that the cognitive training has made a difference in how he thinks on the field" (BOSTON HERALD, 9/7).

THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS: Bergen County (N.J.) Superior Court Judge James DeLuca, who is "overseeing the lawsuit that accuses" Giants QB Eli Manning of memorabilia fraud, has been "asked to step aside -- for the second time during this case -- because he is an admitted longtime Giants fan who owns" two PSLs at MetLife Stadium. DeLuca "declined the initial request to recuse himself two years ago" (NEWSDAY, 9/7).

WHERE MY DOGS AT? Raiders RB Marshawn Lynch "provides the voiceover for an upcoming videogame that features a genetic hybrid of dinosaurs and dogs playing football." Lynch "turned out to be an ideal narrator for Dino-Dogs Football VR," which aims for a late '18 release. California-based publisher JUDOBABY Founder Dan Mueller said, "I got an hour and a half of him doing our dialogue scripts. He had a lot of fun with it. He was just riffing on a lot of stuff. He was having a good time. He wasn’t shy at all" (EAST BAY TIMES, 9/2).
