NFL Network's CHARLEY CASSERLY pointed out on Twitter that he "did not have a vote" on former Chargers and Redskins GM BOBBY BEATHARD's nomination for the Pro Football HOF. An NHL spokesperson said that Browning invited Sabrina to the NHL office to "present those ideas to her team -- and, it turns out, some of them were so smart the NHL is actually exploring them" (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 8/29).

FOOTBALL FIX: In Raleigh, Barry Jacobs profiled Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl President & CEO GARY STOKAN, who is among the more "influential and best-paid neutral parties in college football."
