Media Notes

The HOLLYWOOD REPORTER's Lacey Rose noted a month after the ouster of Fox Sports National Networks President Jamie Horowitz amid a sexual harassment probe, FS1's Cris Carter, Nick Wright and Joy Taylor were "emphatic in their support of their employer during their otherwise sports-focused half-hour before the Television Critics Association." Carter said, "I'm not familiar with what goes on at the other Fox, but as far as Los Angeles and under the leadership of (Fox Sports President & COO) Eric Shanks, I haven't seen that." Taylor: "The culture and the environment at Fox Sports 1 has always been professional, and an overall great experience. It's a great place to work." Wright: "If there was a bad culture at FS1 that I had seen in any capacity, I wouldn't be here" (HOLLYWOODREPORTER.com, 8/9).

GETTING READY: VARIETY's Janko Roettgers reported Facebook is "finally getting ready to unveil its premium video efforts," as the company "announced a new 'Watch' tab for its mobile apps" yesterday. Some of the shows "will be live, including MLB’s live broadcast of a baseball game every Friday night." Facebook at the launch "aims to have several hundred shows on its platform," including the following slate of shows from major partners: Warriors’ “Championship Rewind,” a look at the Warriors’ '16-17 championship season;  MLS and Univision Deportes’ “MLS en Univision” features live MLS games on Facebook; and NBA’s “WNBA All-Access” aims to give a behind-the-scenes look at WNBA stars (VARIETY.com, 8/9).

FROM VEGAS TO OAKLAND: In S.F., Scott Ostler notes the Las Vegas media is "revving up its Raiders coverage." The team has "issued season media credentials to three Las Vegas network-affiliated TV stations, plus several newspaper writers and columnists, photographers and online-video-production people from Vegas outfits." Ostler: "It’s like a guy who plans to steal your girlfriend and has promised her a huge diamond ring just moved in and is sleeping on your couch" (S.F. CHRONICLE, 8/10).
