Buyers & Sellers: Giants' Jason Pierre-Paul Sells Boca Raton Mansion For $1.2M

Giants DE JASON PIERRE-PAUL has "sold his 5,433-square-foot mansion" in Boca Raton, Fla, for $1.2M, the same home where he "badly mangled his right hand" two years ago in a fireworks accident. Shortly before the accident, Pierre-Paul put the home on the market with "high hopes of snagging a buyer" at $2.1M. He then "sliced the price" in '16 to $1.7M, and then dropped the asking price to $1.32M in May. After buying the 5.5-bath home in '12, he "oversaw a complete, two-year renovation of the home, which was originally built" in '95. The kitchen "features dual islands, granite countertops, Miele appliances, and custom dark wood cabinetry that stretches into the open-concept living room" (REALTOR.com, 7/4).

OFF THE MARKET
: An "unnamed Florida couple bought the estate home of the late NASCAR matriarch BETTY JANE FRANCE" for just under $5M. It is the "second-highest price ever paid for a home in Volusia and Flagler counties" in Daytona Beach. The 3.8-acre estate on the Halifax River was built by France and her late husband BILL FRANCE JR. (Daytona Beach NEWS-JOURNAL, 7/6).

FLIP OR FLOP: Coyotes D NIKLAS HJALMARSSON is putting his Chicago home near Wrigley Field up for sale for $3.2M. He bought the house in '15 for $2.32M and paid $900,000 in May '16 for the "three-flat next door," which he then demolished and turned into a side yard. The "brick and limestone house has five bedrooms (four with en suite baths), three wine fridges, dual walk-in closets in the master bedroom, rooftop decks on both the house and the two-car garage, and an outdoor fireplace in the rear yard" (CHICAGOBUSINESS.com, 7/5)

BUYERS & SELLERS
: Jets RB MATT FORTE "wants to expand his 9,000-square-foot house" in the River North area of Chicago. Forte is seeking a "zoning change" that would allow him to add 1,137 square feet, or about 13% to the house. Forte "paid a little more than" $4M for the five-bedroom mansion in December '14 (CHICAGOBUSINESS.com, 6/30)....Former NFLer JIM EVERETT has "sold his remodeled, four-bedroom home" in a guard-gated San Juan Capistrano, Calif., golf community for $1.525M. Built in '89, the 4,332-square-foot, Mediterranean-style house features a "kitchen with a center-island range opens to a family room, plus a formal dining room, wine cellar and media room" (OCREGISTER.com, 7/1)....Former MLBer JASON VARITEK and his wife CATHERINE have closed on a $1.8M home in a "condo development adjacent to the Black Rock Country Club" in Hingham, Mass. (BOSTON GLOBE, 6/30)....Free agent K MIKE NUGENT has sold his Cincinnati home for "nearly $700,000." The former Bengals player bought the house in May '15 for $625,000.
