Tailgate Guys Alters Its Alabama Football Pricing, Adds Deals With Oklahoma, UConn

Alabama-based game-day hospitality company Tailgate Guys will have "exclusive rights" at select areas during Univ. of Alabama football games in '17 after its purchase at Game Day Tents, and the company already is seeing sales up 25% from last year, according to Michael Casagrande of AL.com. Tailgate Guys with its purchase of Tuscaloosa-based Game Day Tents after last season gets rights to set up high-end hospitality areas on UA's Quad and Presidential Park, though prices "have changed" for the '17 season. The "least expensive season-long package on the quad now costs $2,450 before the extras like food and drink." Tailgate Guys "pay a total of $76,000 per game for the right to sell the packages," which "adds up to $532,000 a season to break even just on the land." UA also gets 30% of Tailgate Guys sales over $1M for the spots on the Quad and nearby Presidential Park. The percentage Alabama receives doubled from 15% to 30% before the '16 season. The per-game rate also "went up $10,000." The $2,415 season package "includes the 10x10 tent, a six-foot table, white linens, six tailgating chairs, personalized signage and the set-up/clean-up services." A package for $7,355 "includes a bigger 20x20 tent, three tables, 15 chairs and two coolers with ice." The $15,015 option "gets the 20x20 tent, six tables, 20 chairs, the coolers and a 47-inch HD television." The Presidential Park packages "range from $7,560 to $10,280 with similar offerings." These prices "do not include food or drinks." Tailgate Guys President Parker Duffey "estimated half of the season-long purchases have been for the higher-end of the price-range offerings" (AL.com, 6/30). Tailgate Guys also will have partnerships with Oklahoma and UConn this season (THE DAILY).
