Buyers & Sellers: Phil Simms Lists New Jersey Home; Marlins' Stanton Gets Downtown Condo

CBS' PHIL SIMMS has put his Franklin Lakes, N.J., home on the market for $8.25M. The home "boasts seven bedrooms, nine full baths, two half baths, a wine cellar, a home gym and 19.5 acres of land." There is also a "grand double staircase, an opulent kitchen, a swimming pool, a lake view and rooms flooded with natural light" (NORTHJERSEY.com, 5/22).

MAMA MIA! The Cheviot Hills, Calif., home that former NBAer PAUL PIERCE bought for his mother in '01 has sold for $3.5M -- $105,000 "above its asking price." The Mediterranean-inspired house has "about 5,300 square feet of living space on two stories." Features "include a two-story foyer, three fireplaces and a center-island kitchen." French doors "open the great room to the backyard" (LATIMES.com, 5/18).

DIAMOND DIGS: Former MLBer GARRET ANDERSON has put his Irvine, Calif., home back on the market for $10.695M, down "about $300,000 from when it was up for sale last year." The 9,500-square-foot Spanish-style residence, built in '09, "sits on more than an acre in a private community and is surrounded by courtyards, loggias and vibrant landscaping" (LATIMES.com, 5/24)....Marlins RF GIANCARLO STANTON is under contract to "purchase a five-bedroom unit at the under-construction condominium Aria on the Bay" in downtown Miami. The asking price of the unit was $6.6M, though the building's developer "declined to specify what Stanton will pay." The roughly 4,800-square-foot unit will have "about 3,000 square feet of outdoor space, including a rooftop terrace containing a private outdoor pool" (WSJ.com, 5/24).

PIGSKIN PALACES: NFL Cardinals DE CHANDLER JONES has closed on a $2.925M home in Paradise Valley, Ariz. The new "modern-style custom home comes with floor-to-ceiling marble slabs imported from Italy in the master bath, walls of windows, Gaggenau appliances, electronic pocket doors and a sleek high-tech media room." The three-bedroom, five-bath house with 5,200-square-foot of space was originally listed for $3.9M (AZCENTRAL.com, 5/24)....Chargers TE ANTONIO GATES has "sold his home home in the Poway area of San Diego County for slightly more" than $1.9M. Gates bought the single-story property in '01 for $2.55M. The 6,841 square feet of living space has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms and features a "formal entry that opens on one side to an office/den and, on the other, a formal dining room" (LATIMES.com, 5/18)....Saints RB ADRIAN PETERSON's 4,167-square-foot five-bedroom, three-bathroom house in Eden Prairie, Minn., is "for sale, at a listing price of $695,000." The home "fits in squarely with the other homes in the suburban enclave." The lower level "has the 'ultimate custom bar area,' with 'heated floors, surround sound and 2 TVs'" (ESPN.com, 5/20)....Raiders GM REGGIE MCKENZIE has "put his Green Bay home on the market for $379,900." The 4,185-square-foot home "has four bedrooms and three-plus baths." It "features a great room with a vaulted ceiling, floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace and a stone patio, among other amenities" (MERCURYNEWS.com, 5/22).
