NESN Formally Debuting In-Market Live Streaming Product For Red Sox Games

NESN today is formally debuting NESNgo, its in-market live streaming product for Red Sox games. NESNgo went through a soft launch earlier this spring, but now is providing authenticated in-market streaming at NESNgo.com and a branded NESNgo mobile app for customers of Comcast, Cox Communications, MetroCast, PlayStation Vue and RCN in the Red Sox’ home market. Those five carriers collectively represent more than half of all cable subscribers in NESN’s home territory. The inclusion of Comcast is particularly notable given the distributor is not involved in the in-market streaming recently started in four MLB markets served by Root Sports. BAMTech developed the NESNgo app in collaboration with NESN. NESN President & CEO Sean McGrail called the creation of NESNgo and in-market Red Sox streaming “a significant milestone in NESN history.” NESNgo will include all NESN programming with the exception of Bruins telecasts. With the Red Sox beginning in-market streaming, only the Nationals, Orioles and Dodgers do not offer the service among the 30 MLB clubs.
