Camping World To Be Primary Sponsor Of Scott Dixon's Indianapolis 500 Entry

Camping World will "take over primary sponsorship" of Chip Ganassi Racing's No. 9 Honda driven by Scott Dixon for Sunday's Indianapolis 500, according to Tony DiZinno of NBCSPORTS.com. Dixon, who claimed his third Indy 500 pole this weekend, has "featured NTT Data primary signage" on his car since the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, while running GE LED primary signage at the Verizon IndyCar Series season-opening Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. The car "has been in NTT Data colors this week," as has the "garage signs above Dixon's entry in Gasoline Alley" (NBCSPORTS.com, 5/19). RACER.com's Robin Miller noted since Target "dropped its 27-year IndyCar sponsorship" of Ganassi at the end of '16, CGR's marketing team has been "searching for a replacement." Team Owner Chip Ganassi said Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis is "interested in doing something for the rest of the year, so we'll see how it plays out but this is good news" (RACER.com, 5/19).
