Senators Take To Twitter To Drum Up Interest For Unclaimed Conference Finals Game 6 Tix

The Senators are still looking to sell out tonight's Eastern Conference Finals Game 6 against the Penguins, and the team has posted several tweets to its official account to drum up ticket sales at Canadian Tire Centre. The latest tweet was posted this morning and read, "It’s the biggest #Sens game of the year. Let’s fill @CdnTireCtr and be loud and proud! #ALLIN. BE THERE." The team yesterday went with this message, "Game 6 goes tomorrow night and we need @CdnTireCtr to be loud right from the start. #ALLIN. BE THERE." The Sens later in the day posted a quote from G Craig Anderson: "The main things we can draw from our fans for Game 6 is energy and momentum" (TWITTER.com, 5/23). In Ottawa, Bruce Garrioch writes "nobody was certain exactly how many seats remained" open for Game 6, but it would be fair to say that by last night it "wasn’t close to a sellout." Senators Owner Eugene Melnyk said, "It’s very disturbing." This game would "likely be sold out in every other NHL market in Canada, and even the entire NHL, but the Senators have struggled to fill seats all season." The market "came under the microscope" in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinal against the Rangers, when an "embarrassing crowd of 16,744 showed up." If this game "isn’t sold out, it will raise a lot of questions about the market." The Senators have sold out seven of their eight playoff home games, but the fact that seats remain available for tonight’s game is "actually shocking" (OTTAWA CITIZEN, 5/23).
