Overnight Ratings: Byron Nelson Down, Marking 15th Straight Week Of Declines For PGA Tour

CBS yesterday drew a 2.2 rating for the final round of the PGA Tour AT&T Byron Nelson, which saw Billy Horschel defeat Jason Day in a playoff. The rating is down 12% from a 2.5 rating last year, when Sergio Garcia defeated Brooks Koepka on the first playoff hole, which marked the event's best final-round rating since '05. CBS' rating yesterday is up from a 2.0 overnight in '15 for Steven Bowditch's win. This marks the 15th straight week the final round of a golf event has seen a decrease on broadcast TV (excluding the Zurich Classic, which finished on a Monday due to weather issues). CBS also saw a decrease for third round play (1.3 this year vs. 1.7 in '16).
