Among the speakers were Quail Hollow President JOHNNY HARRIS, PGA Championship Dir JASON MENGEL and golfer JOHNSON WAGNER. The discussion was moderated by Charlotte Observer columnist SCOTT FOWLER and Global Golf Post Senior Writer RON GREEN JR., who is from Charlotte (THE DAILY). 

NAMES: Santa Cruz Warriors President CHRIS MURPHY has been named the '17 NBA D-League Team Exec Of The Year. Under Murphy's leadership, the team sold out all 24 regular-season home games at the 2,505-seat Kaiser Permanente Arena (NBA)....Streaming platform Tencent, China's largest online games developer, is "building an entire town dedicated to esports." The town will be located in Wuhu, China, where Tencent "just signed a framework agreement with the local government" (MASHABLE.com, 5/16)....Minutes before yesterday's L.A. City Council meeting, UFC fighter AMANDA NUNES was honored with "Amanda 'The Lioness' Nunes Day." Nunes is UFC's "first openly gay champion" (L.A. DAILY NEWS, 5/17)....Former USWNT player ABBY WAMBACH on Sunday married christian blogger GLENNON DOYLE MELTON (DEMOCRATANDCHRONICLE.com, 5/16)....Following their Game 7 win over the Wizards on Monday, members of the Celtics organization were seen "hanging out and celebrating" at STRIP by Strega in Boston. Among them were Celtics Managing Partner & CEO WYC GROUSBECK, G ISAIAH THOMAS and C KELLY OLYNYK (BOSTONHERALD.com, 5/17).
