The White Sox have "tapped the largest independent craft brewer in Illinois" as the club's newest partner, making the "fifth small or craft brewery to sign a marketing deal with the team this season," according to Danny Ecker of CRAIN'S CHICAGO BUSINESS. The club this week "announced a new agreement with Logan Square-based Revolution Brewing, adding to a list of smaller marketing deals it has signed with a mix of beer brands." Revolution will have "signage around Guaranteed Rate Field and a kiosk on the 100-level concourse and will be the official 'beer of the homestand' for the team's upcoming series" with the Tigers and Red Sox from May 26-31. After the club "ended a 30-year run with Miller Brewing as the team's official beer, the Sox took a new approach by signing a mix of beer deals in hopes the variety would help boost their struggling attendance." Smaller beer companies using the team's imagery in their own marketing also "could help the team gain traction among a growing population that gravitates toward craft beer" (CHICAGOBUSINESS.com, 5/4).
