CLC closed several deals in recent weeks to extend school relationships or to generate new business. Headlining the list of renewals are Big 12 schools Kansas and Oklahoma, along with extensions at Boston Univ., Portland State, Pepperdine, George Washington, Florida A&M, Sacramento State and William & Mary. Richmond and the Ivy League represent new clients for CLC, an IMG company (CLC).

IF THEY WANT TO ROCK: Synchrony Financial will become the new title partner for the Rock 'n' Roll San Diego Marathon and Half Marathon. The event, which returns June 3-4, is celebrating its 20th running this year. Last fall, Synchrony and series operator Competitor Group announced a series-wide sponsorship. Synchrony also signed on for the second consecutive year as the title partner for the Brooklyn Half Marathon in October (CGI).

HARD HABIT TO BREAK: In Boston, Shelby Grebbin reported NWSL Boston Breakers MF Rose Lavelle has "become the first woman soccer player signed by New Balance to its roster of endorsed athletes." Lavelle was the first pick in the '17 NWSL Draft. Lavelle will "wear the latest New Balance Furon2 footwear on the field and will be featured in New Balance advertising campaigns" (BOSTON GLOBE, 4/21).
