The Knicks fan who last week had a verbal altercation with Owner James Dolan now says he is "having trouble renewing his season tickets," according to Mike Vorkunov of the N.Y. TIMES. Mike Hamersky before a game last week against the Bulls "yelled at Dolan to sell the team" outside MSG. Dolan later acknowledged that he "had confronted Hamersky and cursed at him." Hamersky said that he has "been thwarted by the Knicks in his attempts to renew his ticket plan" for '17-18. The early deadline to renew tickets was yesterday, while the "final deadline is April 25." Hamersky said that he had "not had his emails answered by the Knicks’ ticket representative whom he normally deals with, was locked out of the team’s online ticket portal, and had been hung up on multiple times when he tried to contact someone by phone." The Knicks "declined to comment about Hamersky’s assertions" (NYTIMES.com, 4/11). Hamersky said that he was "rebuffed when a Knicks phone agent put him on hold twice, then he got disconnected." The third time, after "saying his name, he was hung up on." Hamersky: "If they’re revoking my tickets at least have the courtesy to tell me" (N.Y. POST, 4/12). MSG "officially said they had no comment when asked if Hamersky would be permitted or prohibited from renewing his season tickets" (ESPN.com, 4/11).
COURT REPORT: On Long Island, Jim Baumbach reports former NBAer Charles Oakley yesterday "appeared at a Manhattan criminal court" for an arraignment hearing stemming from his incident with Dolan at MSG in February. After a three-minute hearing, Oakley was "ordered to file motions by May 16 and appear again on May 30" (NEWSDAY, 4/12). The AP noted Oakley was arraigned "on misdemeanor assault and other charges before being released without bail." Prosecutors have "accused Oakley, 53, of striking a security guard in the fracas." Oakley has said that he will "fight the charges" (AP, 4/11).
