AFC Franchise Notes: Browns May Change Uniform Design Again In '20

Dee Haslam, the wife of Browns Owner Jimmy Haslam III, said that the team will "probably go through the process of changing their uniforms" in '20. In Akron, Nate Ulrich noted the Browns "just went through the process" in '15, but "aren’t satisfied with the results." NFL teams "must wait at least five years between makeovers." Meanwhile, Jimmy Haslam said "ticket sales are tracking well, better than expected" for the '17 season. Haslam said, "We’re slightly ahead of where we thought we’d be" (AKRON BEACON JOURNAL, 3/28).

STAYING ON TRACK: Ravens President Dick Cass said of fan renewals in the wake of a recent ticket price increase, "Renewals are on track. They're not different, really, than they've been in prior years. But it is too soon to tell if there will be any significant impact on renewals. I don't think there will be. We've not had that many complaints. Obviously when we first announced it, we heard from fans. But we also heard from fans who said they understand. I think the response was intelligent in the sense that they understood why we're doing it" (Baltimore SUN, 3/28).

RAY OF SUNSHINE: In Ft. Lauderdale, Omar Kelly noted the Dolphins are "usually an attractive free-agent destination because of the team’s reputation as big spenders and South Florida’s weather." But this offseason, the Dolphins "took a somewhat conservative approach." The team’s decision makers said that their popularity had "more to do with the team’s performance" in '16 after a 10-6 season. The Dolphins are "finally selling stability." They have a "talented young coach in Adam Gase." Sources also said that the front office is "finally working well together." This is the second offseason Exec VP/Football Operations Mike Tannenbaum, Gase and GM Chris Grier are working together, and "everyone has a defined role" (South Florida SUN-SENTINEL, 3/28).
