Facility Notes

In Nashville, Joey Garrison noted to cover "rising maintenance and upkeep costs at Nissan Stadium," the Metro Sports Authority is "considering doubling the city’s annual subsidy" to the Titans from $1M a year to $2M. The Titans pay for "miscellaneous capital costs at Nissan Stadium on the front end and then get reimbursed by Metro at the end of each year from a pool of city revenue" that comes from the $1M subsidy. That fund has "drained as the number of annual upgrades at the 18-year-old, Metro-owned stadium has increased." Metro’s stadium lease agreement with the Titans, which runs through '27, makes Metro "legally responsible to pay for repairs" (Nashville TENNESSEAN, 3/28).

A TOUCH OF CLASS
: Monterey County's luxury Lodge at Pebble Beach is "opening a 38-room addition this fall" that will front the Pebble Beach Golf Links course. The addition is part of a "series of upgrades" by developer Pebble Beach Co. at the resort ahead of the '18 U.S. Amateur and '19 U.S. Open. The developer said that Fairway One, as the addition is called, will "include 30 guest rooms in three two-story buildings and eight rooms in two four-bedroom golf cottages fronting the first fairway of the golf course." The project also "includes a new meeting facility anchored by a 2,500-square-foot meeting room" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 3/27).

RIGHT ON TRACK: Ravens President Dick Cass said the $45M renovation of the Under Armour Performance Center is "moving along very well." Cass: "Our dining room renovation will be completed, we expect, by April 17, when the players return for volunteer workouts. The north wing is torn down and the foundations are being put in this week." He also said the M&T Bank Stadium end-zone boards "are down." Cass: "The steel structure around them is substantially down and we'll start installing new steel in a week or so" (Baltimore SUN, 3/28).

GRANT OF RIGHTS: The MLB Rangers entered into a three-year partnership extending through the '19 season with Chicago-based consulting firm Grant Thornton. The lower and upper suite areas of Globe Life Park will be named the Grant Thornton Suite Level. Grant Thornton will be making a donation to the new Rangers MLB Youth Academy at Mercy Street Sports Complex presented by Toyota, as well as hosting events and clinics at that facility (Rangers).
