Signs Point To Jets Owner Woody Johnson Accepting U.K. Ambassador Position

NFL Jets Owner Woody Johnson's brother, Christopher Wold Johnson, came with him to this week's owners' meetings, which could be a "sign that Woody Johnson is closer to officially being named" ambassador to the U.K. by President Trump, according to Brian Costello of the N.Y. POST. The move has been "rumored for months," and Christopher has been "reported as the one to take over day-to-day operations of the team while his brother is in England." Woody still would be "involved in any major decisions," but Christopher would "handle the everyday events of the organization." Woody "declined to speak to reporters" yesterday (N.Y. POST, 3/27). In Newark, Connor Hughes notes Jets President Neil Glat would "presumably assume a larger role as well." Christopher Wold Johnson and Glat have "not been in attendance for the owners meetings in recent years." Woody Johnson "doesn't have any scheduled media availability" during the meetings (Newark STAR-LEDGER, 3/27).
