Sources: Adidas Getting Rid Of CCM Hockey Apparel Brand In Favor Of Own Moniker

Adidas is "killing the CCM apparel brand" even as the company is "selling its CCM hockey brand as it continues to move away from the sports hard-goods space," according to Josh Kosman of the N.Y. POST. Despite a potential sale, Adidas will be "keeping the CCM apparel license, not transferring it to the new CCM owner." A source said that starting with the '17-18 season, Adidas will "get rid of the CCM name on NHL apparel, replacing it with Adidas." However, the source added that CCM will "still be seen on NHL helmets and sticks." Kosman notes presently, CCM is the "official licensee for the NHL throwback jerseys, and many team sweatshirts and T-shirts" (N.Y. POST, 3/16).
