Baseball broadcaster TIM MCCARVER will "receive the AutoZone Liberty Bowl Distinguished Citizen Award in a ceremony June 25 at the Memphis Hilton." The award has been "presented to a wide range of prominent Americans through the years." Past recipients include ELVIS PRESLEY, ARCHIE MANNING and FedEx Chair & CEO and Redskins investor FRED SMITH (Memphis COMMERCIAL APPEAL, 3/13)....Patriots K STEPHEN GOSTKOWSKI spent some time skiing at Wachusett Mountain in Massachusetts this weekend, "even taking a little jab" at teammate TOM BRADY. Gostkowski in a video post said, "Tom, this is how you land a jump, my friend." Brady "posted a video to his Instagram last month of a spill on the slopes" (BOSTONGLOBE.com, 3/12).

IN MEMORY: Former Packers Treasurer PHILIP HENDRICKSON passed away last week at the age of 97. Hendrickson was elected to the Packers BOD in '75. He was elected to the exec committee in '82 and was Treasurer from '84-90. He moved to Director Emeritus status in '11 (GREEN BAY PRESS-GAZETTE, 3/11)....RUSSELL STOCKARD passed away on Saturday at the age of 92. Stockard was the first SID at Southern Univ., the first SID of the Southwestern Athletic Conference and the "first black correspondent to write for mainstream newspapers in Louisiana" (Baton Rouge ADVOCATE, 3/12).
