The Colts will "no longer go off-site" for training camp, as team has done since '84, "choosing instead to have training camp at its Indianapolis training facility," according to Stephen Holder of the INDIANAPOLIS STAR. The team's training facility "cannot accommodate fans," so practices at the complex "will be closed to the public." The team said that "plans are underway to stage two public practices at 'local venues.'" Holder noted the Colts have held training camp about an hour northeast of Indianapolis at Anderson Univ. since '10, but "broke off their year-to-year agreement" with the school earlier this year. The team was "close to an agreement" to move camp to DePauw Univ. in Greencastle, Ind. before "backing out." News of the planned move to the Colts complex was "met with mixed reaction from fans." The Colts "did not cite a reason for the change, but part of the team's calculation was the fact that training camps have been trending shorter." About half of NFL teams now "conduct training camps at their own training facilities" (INDIANAPOLIS STAR, 3/4).
