Atlanta United Signs Multiyear Deal With Fox Sports RSNs Ahead Of Debut Season

Atlanta United has signed a multiyear deal with FS South and Southeast to serve as the club’s exclusive regional TV rights holder. All of the club’s 19 non-nationally televised matches will appear on one of the two networks, as well as streamed on Fox Sports Go. Each broadcast will also feature a 30-minute pre- and postgame show, and a weekly behind-the-scenes series will also air on FS Southeast. An SAP feed will be available for every telecast. Atlanta United President Darren Eales said that given the club’s location relative to the other MLS franchises, having extended regional reach was extremely important for its local deal. As a result of its partnership with Fox, locally aired Atlanta United matches will reach more than 10 million households across Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. FS South Senior VP & GM Jeff Genthner said that even as an expansion club, the net views Atlanta United already as a marquee property given the growth of its brand across the southeast and its success with its season-ticket sales. Genther noted the addition of both the SAP feed and additional shoulder programming will hopefully only further that growth. Eales said that the club is hiring a three-person broadcast team, which will include a sideline reporter. Both Eales and Genthner declined to comment on the financial relationship of the deal, but Genthner noted that everything in the relationship has been collaborative.
