PGA Tour Honda Classic Adds 18th Hole Legends Club To Improve Fan Experience

The PGA Tour Honda Classic takes place this week at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, and organizers have "listened to fans and added new amenities accordingly," according to Sarah Peters of the PALM BEACH POST. Among those amenities is an "intimate, upscale Legends Club tucked beneath the stands on the 18th green." Tournament Dir Andrew George said that they "started getting feedback from professionals in the [Palm Beach] community who said they wanted to entertain clients but didn’t need 30 or 40 tickets for a corporate box." The club's $750-per-person, per-day tickets "give spectators an up-close view of the green and the players as they walk off the course." The new area has a "floor-to-ceiling glass wall and a patio with outdoor seating." In the "air conditioned Legends Club suite with private restrooms and a red carpet walkup, fans can dine on a full breakfast and varying lunch menu that includes lobster, shrimp, snow crabs, a raw seafood bar, steak and beef tenderloins." Honda Classic Exec Dir Ken Kennerly said that he "expects to see significant demand in the future, and space, for now, will be limited." Kennerly and George said that the Legends Club "could double or even triple in size," but they "want to make sure any expansion is driven by demand." Kennerly said that there is "room to build out hospitality venues on the 16th fairway, 15th green and 14th green should the market call for it" (PALM BEACH POST, 2/21).
