Media Notes

In N.Y., Phil Mushnick reported that he expects CBS Sports Radio's Doug Gottlieb to "soon move" to Fox Sports to host a radio show and work as a college basketball court-side analyst (N.Y. POST, 2/12). SI.com's Richard Deitsch yesterday cited a source who "confirmed the move." Gottlieb in recent years has "hosted a show on CBS Sports Radio, called games for CBS Sports Network, and also worked on the CBS/Turner coverage of the NCAA Tournament" (SI.com, 2/12).

NOT GOING AWAY: Deitsch noted ESPN Radio N.Y. hosts Michael Kay and Don Lagreca on Friday "did a good job" with Knicks Owner James Dolan during an interview, especially considering that the station airs Knicks games. Kay has a "good professional relationship with Dolan" and kept him on the air "long enough where listeners could judge Dolan’s words on Charles Oakley" after last week's events (SI.com, 2/12). In N.Y., Bob Raissman noted MSG Net on Wednesday night, "likely under Dolan’s orders, did not run video of the Oakley incident." It "made the network look incompetent because ESPN had already been airing the confrontation" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 2/12).

WEST SIDE STORY: In Washington, Vince Grippi wrote there was a "love-fest" on Saturday on ESPN around the Gonzaga-Saint Mary's men's hoops game. The net, with "College GameDay" on site, had the game "covered from every angle -- maybe too many." Play-by-play man Dan Shulman, "if not a No. 1 seed among those in his role, is at least a strong second or third." Jay Bilas "kept his usual off-the-wall remarks to a minimum and displayed a depth of Gonzaga knowledge that is unparalleled among national commentators" (Spokane SPOKESMAN-REVIEW, 2/12).

RUNWAY MODEL: In Milwaukee, Lori Nickel notes Bucks G Jason Terry on his SiriusXM show “The Runway" seeks to "push topics right to the edge once in awhile." He has "always been one of the best talkers in the NBA ... and he saw no reason to wait until retirement to get into the media game." Terry was "out of radio for the last four years until Sirius XM Radio approached him about a year ago" (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 2/13).
