Golden Knights' Local Radio Deal Could Take Longer Than TV Due To Preemption Concerns

The Golden Knights have had discussions with FS West and FS Prime Ticket for regional TV broadcasts, but team Owner Bill Foley said that a local radio deal "might take a little longer because the team wants to make sure it is not pre-empted on its broadcasts," according to Steve Carp of the LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL. The team has had "discussions with several local radio stations" thus far. The club is also "looking to create a Spanish broadcast to connect with Las Vegas’ Latino community." Foley: "We’re still talking and looking at the proposals. But I expect us to be heard in both English and Spanish every game with no problem." Meanwhile, Foley said of an RSN deal, "We hope to have an offer for television within the next week or so. We have territorial rights for TV in all of Nevada along with Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Northern Arizona and Eastern California. Ideally, I’d like to see us televise our games in each of those markets. I want us to be the team of the Rocky Mountains" (LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL, 1/25).
