Chiefs' Win Over Raiders On "TNF" Leads To Primetime Victory For NBC In Overnights

NBC and NFL Network combined for an 11.8 overnight rating for the Chiefs' 21-13 win over the Raiders on "TNF," leading to a primetime victory for NBC. NFL Network last year drew a 7.4 overnight for Vikings-Cardinals in the Week 14 "TNF" window. K.C. led all markets for Raiders-Chiefs with a 44.4 local rating, followed by Denver with a 22.5. Sacramento generated a 22.0 overnight, while S.F.-Oakland-San Jose drew a 15.2, ranking ninth out of the top 10 markets (THE DAILY).

A HILL OF A CALL: Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill returned a second-quarter punt on Thursday for a touchdown after a penalty negated an initial Raiders punt, a play that NBC's Cris Collinsworth foreshadowed in his commentary. FS1's Nick Wright wrote, "Collinsworth is so damn good. Just so good. He called the winded punt coverage team. Can he do every game?" ESPN's Field Yates: "What a great point by Cris Collinsworth about the Raiders' punt unit being winded before that second punt. Prescient." ESPN's Michael Wilbon: "Cris Collinsworth just came as close as you'll hear an analyst come to calling a punt return for TD."

SAY IT AIN'T SO: In St. Louis, Dan Caesar notes it appears the Rams will be shown on TV in the city "just once more this season." They have been on TV "six times in the market so far this season," but KTVI-Fox "doesn't plan to carry" Sunday's game against the Falcons. Instead it is "set to show" Seahawks-Packers. The Rams "return next Thursday night" to the St. Louis airwaves with the "TNF" matchup against the Seahawks on KSDK-NBC. That "probably will be the final time they are televised in St. Louis this season," as their last two games are against the 49ers and Cardinals, who both have records under .500 (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 12/9).
